RACHEL Emily was born in Worcestershire and is currently living in North-East London where she has been a published songwriter for almost a decade. Rachel’s commercial successes include penning and producing UK number one and US platinum-selling singles and her poetry has been used as the stimulus for performances at the Barbican, London. Rachel has a deep-rooted and enduring passion for nature, wildlife, plants, fungi, animals and the environment and these are common themes in her writing. Rachel’s writing for children aims to encourage curiosity, imagination, gentleness and empathy in anyone reading – however old they are. Rachel’s debut picture book, In You I See is illustrated by Jodie Howard and was published by Dorling Kindersley. Rachel’s second picture book, Says Who was published by Farshore and illustrated by Paul Delaney and her third Jenny Peckles Lays Eggs With Speckles was published in March 2025.
