SUE Wallman is a former magazine journalist who now works in a secondary school library. She grew up on the south coast of England, and graduated from Oxford Brookes with a degree in Publishing and English, and now lives in London. In 2013 she won the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction First Chapter Award.
Lying About Last Summer, Sue’s debut YA novel was published in 2016 by Scholastic and chosen for the WHSmith’s Zoella Book Club. It won the Worcestershire Teen Book Award 2017. Sue’s second novel See How They Lie was published in 2017. It was a Tesco YA Book of the Month, won the Lancashire Book of the Year 2018 and was shortlisted for the South East Themed Book Award 2018. Her third novel Your Turn to Die won The Highgate Wood Book Award 2019 and the Maidstone Area Book Awards 2019. Dead Popular was WHSmith Book of the Month in August 2019 and it was followed by I Know You Did It which won the Grampian Book Prize and in 2022 by Such a Good Liar. Sue’s most recently published book is, Every Word a Lie which was published in 2023. She is currently working on her eighth book which is due to be published by Scholastic in 2024.
